Sep 19th

Small spaced kitchens are probably in need of narrow kitchen tables. Long and narrow design features elegant design and function to compliment overall space. The long, narrow kitchen tables are often in residential housing, such as apartments, cabins and small houses. They came on boats where space was limited, and commercial kitchens are usually that way because the layout is practical and effective cooking.

While long narrow kitchen tables tend to be smaller than those of larger dwellings, if the room has a minimum of 8 feet (2.4 m) wide, placed the three main areas of work-the stove, sink and the refrigerator – at a distance of between 4 and 9 feet (1.2 to 2.7m). This arrangement facilitates the movement to multitask, keeping the cook feel restricted and confined. Avoid having a door that connects to the outside to reduce traffic within the kitchen to a minimum.

Advice

The long narrow kitchen tables are effective but not conducive to communication. If possible, pull part of the wall that connects the kitchen with the dining area so the cook can interact with each other while working. You can transform the lower half of the wall in a bar with stools for people to sit and visit while working cook. Consider installing a swinging door at one end of the kitchen to stop traffic to the room.
